Serve Mechanic

Soft loose grip and arm

Contact point out in front low by your knee

Weight transfers forward into non paddle leg in front

Front shoulder and hip are positioned towards your target- follow through pointing at your target
Serve Rules
Volley Serve: Ball is dropped and hit out of the air before bouncing

contact below the belly button

low to high motion

paddle tip below the wrist

Cannot manipulate the ball with non paddle hand
Drop Serve: ball is dropped and allowed to bounce on the ground and then is hit

Ball must be dropped, not tossed or thrown

All other rules do NOT apply if using drop serve
Partner to Partner Serves Drill

Players set up crosscourt from their partner
-
Players take turns serving to their partner who catches ball and then serves it back

Focus is on consistency, form and hitting the service box
Return Collector Drill
-
1 min round on the right and left side of the court
-
1 player serves and 1 player returns back to the server
-
Players count how many returns they get in bounds in the 1 min round
-
Compete with your partner to see who can get the most in each 1 min round
