Rescue Dink

This dink gets you out of trouble when you are pulled out of position

Most commonly the shot that has pulled you out really wide at the NVZ

Too many players want to swing at this ball

We need to Rescue dink this to keep our team in the point

Put on the breaks and breathe! EXHALE

Slow swing – it will feel like slow motion

Smart placement

If the ball gets behind you – down the line but not too close bc of Erne

Aiming for mid kitchen in front of the person directly across from you is a great spot

Net Taps Drill
-
Players stand across the net from each other at the NVZ.

Players hit a shallow lift dink then touch the net with their paddle
-
Player must back up and take dink off the bounce after their partner hits a lift dink and then touches the net.
Dinking Accuracy
-
Forehands- push your thumbs towards your target
-
Backhands- push your knuckles towards your target

Follow through pointing your paddle, hips, toes and shoulders at your target

The finish of every shot is the beginning of the next shot
Side to Side Dink Drill

Players stand straight on to each other

1 Player is just hitting back to partner’s feet focusing on accuracy and consistency

1 Player is alternating targeting backhand and forehand with each shot focusing on accuracy and consistency

2 min round then switch roles
Paddle Face Watching

Watching your opponents paddle face tells you more than just watching the ball

As you opponent is prepping to hit- pay attention to the angle of the paddle face
